LIFT Counselling Program - Living in Families with Teens

LIFT is a program for parents and youth who are experiencing difficulties within the family relationship system
LIFT helps parents and caregivers to explore family relationships, recognize strengths, understand teen behaviours, build confidence in parenting, develop strategies for managing conflict and stress, and enhance family connections. This is a free and confidential service offered with funding from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). LIFT also provides parent workshops and facilitates parent groups.

How to Access LIFT
  • Program is an open community referral service, meaning parents/caregivers and youth between the ages of 12 - 18 years old can contact the LIFT Office for an initial intake. Formal referrals are also accepted from MCFD, CYMH, School District and other community service providers.
  • LIFT also provides parent workshops and facilitates parent groups.
  • Is available for parents/caregivers living in Ladysmith and Nanaimo school districts.
  • Daytime and evening appointments are available Monday through Friday, offered in person or virtual.
