When to Choose:
- Travel is required for a non-emergency medical appointment in another community
- The appointment is with an Island Health facility or affiliate site
- The patient lives in a rural or remote community within the Island Health region
- The patient has difficulty arranging or paying for transportation on their own
- The patient requires door-to-door travel support to get to the appointment safely and reliably
How to Access:
- Call or email to arrange a ride or get more information
- Patient to provide the following information via telephone or email:
- Their full name, contact information and date of birth
- Their home community
- The appointment date, time and location
- The physician/provider's name
- Any accessibility or mobility needs (wheelchair, walker, support person, etc.)
- The team will help coordinate travel options with the patient.
