Offers a variety of programming and services for children, youth, and adults on Gabriola Island through hands-on prevention and education
Service areas include early learning, counselling, parenting and healthy families, youth leadership, and after-school programs.

Early Years: Provides services that include:
  • Mother Goose: For children up to age three and their parents, and runs from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Tuesdays; registration required
  • Rughuggers: For caregivers and parents of children up to age four to network and socialize with other parents while children play. Runs from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon on Thursdays; offers coffee and snacks.
  • Family FUNdamentals: For parents and children ages two to four to promote healthy eating, active living, and positive body image and parenting skills. Runs from 10:30 AM to 12 Noon on Fridays; by registration only.
  • Baby Massage runs twice a year for five weeks and is for parents and babies up to nine months.

Middle Years:
  • After School Care Program: Runs during the school year (September through June) from Monday to Friday for children ages 5 to 12. Provides leadership opportunities for children ages 11 and 12 to act as peer leaders for the group.
  • Peer Helpers: Training runs for eight months of the school year, twice a week, and focuses on skill-building, communication, personal values, and making healthy decisions.
  • HOPE for Grade 7: For students ages 11 to 13 and runs during the school year (September through June). Promotes resiliency for youth as they transition into adolescence, and focuses on education, motivation, and the power of personal choice.
  • Rainbows: A support program for children who have suffered a significant loss in their lives, either by death, divorce, or any other painful transition. There will be two groups of no more than 7 children. A facilitated parent group will be available at the same time.

Teen Years:
  • Teen Years Program: For youth ages 13 to 19 and targets healthy autonomy and positive thinking.
  • Teen Peer Helper Initiative: Supports youth resiliency by teaching positive friendship skills and how to provide peer support. The program involves team-building exercises, training, final projects, and ends with a retreat. Youth are involved in all aspects of their project including planning, fundraising, budgeting, deadlines, and completion.
  • Teen Recreation Program includes a drop-in night, from 7:00 PM to 12 Midnight on Fridays all year.
