Provides compassionate end-of-life care services for those facing death and bereavement.
Individual and Family Counselling: Notice: Temporary Pause on Our 1:1 Counselling Waitlist. Please check back in October 1st to request placement on the waitlist. Provides bereavement support in the form of counselling sessions for individuals and families who have lost a loved one. Counselling sessions are offered via phone, video, or in-person, and are open to members of the Vancouver community, as well as those who have lost a loved one at the hospice. There is no charge for up to 6 sessions in total. For more info, contact the Clinical Counsellor (see email below).

Bereavement Walking Group: Bereavement walks provide an opportunity to gather with other Vancouver residents who have lost a loved one and are experiencing grief. Groups run for 8 weeks in the spring, fall, and winter and offer a supportive space to walk, talk, and share, while receiving fresh air and gentle exercise. There is no charge to participate. Registration is required.

Bereavement Support Groups: A no-cost group led by the specialized counsellors, meet weekly for two-hour sessions over six weeks. These groups focus on various themes, exploring the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of grief. They provide a safe space for individuals who have experienced similar relational losses to discuss coping strategies and access valuable resources. Registration is required.

Healing Touch: Healing Touch is an energy-based technique designed to promote relaxation, harmony, and a sense of well-being. Trained volunteers use gentle, intentional “off-body” touch to help balance physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energies. Sessions provide a soothing atmosphere, supporting calmness and relaxation. Many recipients describe feelings of peace and well-being following a session. The Healing Touch program is available to palliative patients and their family members at the Hospice, as well as to individuals in the wider community who are experiencing grief and loss. Trained volunteers provide sessions on Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings at the Granville location.
