Mobile Health Outreach - Nanaimo

Provided by Hollyburn Family Services & NARSF Programs

Provides free and confidential harm reduction supplies, information and referrals to Cowichan Lake, Duncan, Ladysmith, Nanaimo, and Parksville areas.
Services provided by the Mobile Health Outreach are based on a harm reduction philosophy building on client strengths. The intent of this work with clients is to recognize strengths, build on the individuals' capacity to make healthier life choices, reduce transmission of HepB/HepC/HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, and for the individual to reflect on their their state of readiness for change.

Mobile Outreach Hours:
  • Cowichan Lake and Cowichan area: Tuesdays 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Parksville: Thursdays 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Nanaimo and Ladysmith: Wednesdays 3:00 PM - 8:30 PM and Fridays 2:00 PM - 9:30 PM

  • Safer sex and substance use supplies
  • Education and information on sexually transmitted infections and blood-borne illnesses
  • Condoms and lubricant
  • Confidential harm reduction supplies, education and information including needle exchange and safer smoking supplies
  • Naloxone training & kits for overdose prevention
  • Point of Care HIV/HCV testing
  • Referrals to other support services
